Fun Ways to Wear Leopard Print Trend

Saturday, September 29, 2018 Simone - Your Style Architect 0 Comments

Whilst some of you had jumped on the bandwagon of trending animal prints this Fall, others may be a little apprehensive as it can be a little too much to put on a full outfit of leopard prints.

Don't get me wrong - I love leopard prints and animal prints like snake prints however, I was cautious this time around to invest in a full blown leopard print piece seeing that it's one of those " come and go" trends that turn around in a heartbeat. So, I decided to put this outfit together, getting into the whole trend of leopard prints but wearing it subtly in terms of pieces rather than a full outfit.

Found the perfect match in these beautiful faux fur pumps and belt and these leopard print drop earrings I had stashed away at the back of my earring drawer.

Moral of the story :: You certainly do not need to follow trends blindly but twist it to match your needs and the appropriateness of the climate you are in.

Tell me what you think of this trend and how you would style this look? Have fun playing with the leopard print trend!

Make That Statement!

Saturday, September 22, 2018 Simone - Your Style Architect 7 Comments

If you are like me, where dressing a little flamboyant is in your blood, where you love to stand out in the crowd, then you would love the current trend of statement sleeves. Giving an outfit a slight twist, this trend totally brings a simple outfit to a whole new different level just by a slight tweak on the sleeves to make it dramatic and theatrical.

The bright colour of this top certainly calls out amidst fall colours to bring that little sunshine to greying skies.

Paired with simple jewellery and accessories, the other statement piece of this outfit are the V cut slingbacks. Perfect for Fall cover up yet comfy to run around in and looking tres chic.

Hope you like this quick outfit post!

Raise The Checkered Flag

Hello from sunny Singapore where we are currently celebrating the 10th year anniversary of the Formula 1 races having taken place here every September since 2008. Whilst everyone is getting ready for the big race tomorrow evening, what better way to enjoy the races in a themed styled outfit.

Restyling an old favourite ( check out previous post here) and coping with the balmy weather, I decided to pair this culotte with an off shoulder top to stay cool ( no pun intended).

Of course, with such a great mood and hype around the races, a comfy pair of shoes like these Ria Menorca glitter wedges and a silver net bag finishes off the look. Taking one from the races to a night out and about town seeing the sights and enjoying the after parties.

A person who loves her statement jewellery, I am so chaffed to trend these @thriftythieves resin earrings in the perfect colour match to my outfit.

Hope you enjoyed this look and if you get the chance, do tune in to watch the races this weekend, soaking up the beautiful night skyline of Singapore!

Jumpsuit in Watermelon Red

Tuesday, September 11, 2018 Simone - Your Style Architect 2 Comments

This is a throwback post to my birthday celebration in Aug 2018. My husband had organised a surprise chinese dim sum luncheon at Man Fu Yuan @ Intercontinental Hotel, Singapore and we were personally looked after by renowned celebrity Executive Chef Eric Neo.

The dim sum items were amazing and certainly different from your run of the mill chinese restaurant yum cha, with a fusion touch to each item presented. However, the highlight of my afternoon was a specially made birthday cake with red glitter stilettos, chocolate butterflies and marble chocolate covered strawberry as pebbles. Everything you see on my cake was edibled and certainly delicious!

For this special occasion, I wore a watermelon red, floral printed jumpsuit from Zara. Comfy and easy to put on and take off ( as we know the cons of wearing jumpsuits), this number gave me lots of allowance space to eat till I drop!

Another year older, hopefully wiser, here's wishing all of you a great rest of the week ahead!

Hi everyone and how has your weekend been so far? Not sure if you have noticed in the pictures on this post ( or perhaps on my Instagram feed recently) that I have decided to change my hairstyle slightly again. Honestly with already a short hairstyle there isn't much allowance for drastic change unlike from a long to a short hairstyle. However I needed to feel revitalised again after all that has been going on.

So here I am with what I would deem as a Kris Jenner-Kardashian style. A versatile pixie like cut that I could wear fringe down as casual or blown up for a more sophisticated look. Do let me know in the comments below if you feel this new style looks better on me? Or perhaps give me some recommendation for my next makeover.

Headed out to The Coastal Settlement on the far east of Singapore for a casual brunch and loving the vibe of this lovely cafe. Options of indoor or al fresco dining among the luscious trees is such a welcome change with the weather hitting almost 35 degrees on some days the last few weeks. The decor of this funky cafe is so vintage with all memorabilia of days gone by as you can see from a brief picture attached above. Food was of good portioning though a little pricey but taste was certainly there.

Perhaps when you next have a chance to pop into Singapore, you could check out this lovely nook in the cranny or if you are based here, have fun heading out east and make it a trip to remember.

Have not styled polka dots this Summer so here is my first take on the polka dot trend. I love this off shoulder top which is so comfy in cotton and with it's 3/4 sleeves a nice versatile number to take you from day to night playing with various pairings.

I wanted to keep this a casual weekend look feeling the heat these couple of days and paired it with the latest trending Ria Menorca glitter wedges and a funky quilted waist bag.

Love,
Simone xoxo
